Show Teams

The excitement of equestrian showing

At Woodland, we encourage our riders to enjoy the sport of horseback riding while also motivating them to advance their skills and excel in their horsemanship.

For our more competitive students, we offer several teams that participate in a range of shows, from casual in-house exhibitions and events at local stables to more intensive rated show circuits.

Our teams introduce newer riders to the excitement of equestrian showing and help more seasoned riders keep challenging themselves to achieve new goals.

Our teams include:

  • Hunter/Jumper Show Team

  • Event Team

  • Dressage Team

  • “Drill Bit” Adult Drill Team

Hunter/Jumper Show Team

Riders compete in flat and jumping classes in a variety of local / regional horse shows. The Show Team is quite successful and offers a great learning experience as well as the chance for team members to bond and form new friendships.

Event Team

Our event team has been showcasing the competitive talents of our youth and adult riders since 2007! Equestrians on this team compete across three disciplines — dressage, cross country, and show jumping. Developing skills in these three very different events is a big challenge that comes with big rewards!

Dressage Team

Both young riders and adults participate in this team to hone their skills in the beautiful art of dressage. Our dressage team competes in shows through the Potomac Valley Dressage Association-sponsored schooling shows and occasionally shows in online events as well. Our team performs well, with many members becoming high point winners by the end of show season.

“Drill Bits” Adult Drill Team

The “Drill Bits” Precision Drill Team was established in 2012. The team presents their drills at our In-House shows and other area events. If you are an A2 rider or higher and are interested in joining this fabulously fun team, ask us for more information!
